Mimi Berry: The New Collection Edit

Handbag and accessory label Mimi Berry launched its new Autumn Winter collection last week, much to my excitement. Need a reason to sit up and take note other than my say so? Well Mimi produces two seasonal collections a year of beautifully crafted leather bags made right here in the UK. Using Italian leather - but always the epitome of understated British quality and cool - it prides itself on supporting British manufacturing. Bravo! This ethos is certainly visible; designs are classic and there's no flashy branding to be seen here, instead details are all functional and scream 'investment piece' and 'future vintage must-have in the making'.

Another reason? The new collection is ticking all the major AW 13 trend boxes, with both classic and new Mimi shapes updated in new catwalk-inspired colours of sienna, damson, olive green, pale gold, sky blue and giraffe - leopard prints less showy but no less sophisticated cousin.

Also, if you're thinking about replacing your classic shopper or tote bag this season Mimi probably has the answer to your needs in classic black or tan, likewise there are some great long strap styles like 'Frank', 'Peggy' and 'Eric' pictured below. My favourite piece of the season though has to be 'The Daniel' pouch / clutch bag pictured below in giraffe. I can just see the simplistic and utilitarian - but oh so tactile bag - being worn for LFW, tucked under the arm and worn with an over sized coat naturally!
